Wood Texture In Web Design
Another nice element for web design is wood texture.
Wood textures give a natural and organic feel to a website, also to me wood textures give a warm and inviting feeling, however, is it suitable for any website, or does the website purpose has to do with something like nature or carpentry or other things that have to do with wood?
This great collection of wood textured websites shows that wood texture designs can fit a large variety of websites, there are some really beautiful examples!

68 fresh and great examples of single page website design
One of the interesting trends which I noticed recently is to showcase your work in single page design. It’s kind of ironic to see what designers can do with single pages as modern age designers love to experiment with things and observe how people interact with their work. Even though this is not a common trend to follow but still as the new design styles come up, and as more and more designers notice them and make use of them in their work, this kind of trends emerge.

English Russia – The unknown side of Russia
All people know Russia is a Northern country with snow, frost, cold winter. All keep in mind pictures of taiga, Siberia, polar bears and vodka. Well, it’s all true, we all know now that 65% of Russia is covered with permafrost, but there is one fact than less people know. Russia has a territory that is located more to South than Milano, Nice, Monte Carlo and other places of European South. And this territory occupies more square than France or Germany. Meet Sochi, the Winter Olympics 2014 host. This Russia doesn’t look like Russia at all, maybe the next place for your vacation?
and to finish up with some humor, check this cool funny Twitter comics – so true!

Using nature concept in web design
Designers choose all kind of concepts when designing their websites. The concept of NATURE may sound to you a little corny or overused, but I found some great examples of nature inspired web designs – check out this post.
Here are some nice examples.

The color brown
Brown is an earthy color that represents simplicity, friendliness, and dependability. Brown is my favorite color, I use it everywhere.
Many of my clothes are brown, my all time favorite jacket is brown, My apartment walls (well some of them) are brown, my Twitter bacground, my desktop wallpaper and many other things in my life are brown. There’s something about this color. To me, there’s something very domestic and warm about brown. Many people say that brown is a boring color and that it reminds them of their auntie’s wallpapers.
I never actually thought about using brown in web design, I guess the reason for that is people’s opinion about this color and their connotation with it. Today i found a great post with 50 beautiful brown web designs – This really changed my opinion about using this color in web design. I think these websites’ design is really great! There’s another nice website with brown web design, it’s called Max Brenner – an Israeli chocolate chain with stores located all over the world, their shops are also designed in brown, and this was actually my inspiration for designing my own home walls.
The Gradual Disappearance Of Flash Websites
A very interesting article by Smashing Magazine
If you want to “go big” visually with a website, delivering complex interaction and a rich experience across a wide range of browsers, Flash is the only way to go. Right? Nope. Given the widespread adoption and advancements of modern browsers and JavaScript libraries, using Flash makes little sense. But it does have its place on the Web, considering the need for progressive enhancement.
In the current landscape of technology and accessing the Internet through devices such as picture frames, netbooks, cell phones and televisions, the benefits of Web standards outweigh those of Flash, especially when delivering content to a broad audience on various devices.
